when you feel a connection, when you feel it in your gut, in your blood, in your heart: It’s HOPE. it allows you to believe in yourself and mankind.
Isolation is the most debilitating stressor. The main goal is to minimize isolation through enhancing cognitive and social skills that enable us to build connections. The heartbeat gives life but without connections one cannot optimize their self-potential. Mental Illness can decrease one’s ability to make friends, get involved in the community, articulate dialogue and/or maintain motivation to secure social bonds.
